We received the project request through a contact in the middle-east. They wanted to design and develop the e-commerce application and Magento was chosen as the preferred opensource application. The end client was based in the UK and was an established Oak furniture manufacturer. Usually, we work directly with customers but this time there was another agency in the middle. The challenge in this project was to get over the communication gap that arouses with a middle man in between. But it was handled very well as soon as we realized it. We created clarifications and documents to cover every aspect so the need for involvement for the other agency was very low. Things started to flow smoothly. We created 2 mockup designs and the customer liked one of them and decided to proceed with it. We designed the Home page, Category listing page, Product detail page, Cart page, and Checkout page. The rest of the pages were supposed to follow the design without creating a design file. The first development task was to create a theme based on the design which was more of frontend work. The design came out very well as a new Magento theme in less than 3 weeks time. There were a few things the client requested to change from the initial design. Even though it reduced the quality of design – it was important for the customer so we made those changes the best way we could. Then we did some customizations to suit the specific requirements of the client. We have also created a User manual for managing products and other data in the store. With the actual products, the store came to life and it runs smoothly to cater to the needs of our client's customers.
