Yachtfocus started off as publishers and evolved as providers of IT platforms for yachtbrokers and enthusiasts. We have a working relationship dating back to many years with Yachtfocus. Yachtfocus approached us with a requirement to build a mobile application for their business. The mobile app would work as a platform to display boats/yachts and is used by individuals, yacht brokers or agencies. Users can browse through new and used boats and save items as favorites to view later. Yachtfocus has an in-house technical team and after discussion, we decided to go with Ionic framework to develop the hybrid app to save time reduce cost. A Hybrid app was chosen because the app was mostly about reading the API and displaying the data and browsing through it. From a single code base, Android and iOS apps can be made. The client delivered the design to us which followed the design flow of their website. The APIs were developed by the developers from the Yachtfocus team. Our developers were in constant touch with them communicating directly over skype chat and everything went smoothly even with the timezone and culture barriers. They were very responsive and all requests were done on time. This helped us complete the project on time. The challenge we had to face was to make the design unique for both iOS devices and Android for this being a hybrid app. In the end, the app came out real good and user-friendly. It’s being used extensively at the moment and we released a couple of more versions with feature updates. We have done more projects with Yachtfocus modifying their web-based software. The relationship continues and we look forward to the next project we can collaborate with this great customer.
