1+1 Video is a mobile streaming application created for 1+1 Media, one of Ukraine’s largest media holdings. The goal was to provide Ukrainians living abroad with convenient, uninterrupted access to the 1+1 International TV channel. The app was designed with a focus on simplicity, usability, and seamless media integration, ensuring an enjoyable viewing experience across various platforms and devices. CHALLENGES Delivering a smooth, high-quality streaming experience to users across multiple time zones and regions. Ensuring the app was intuitive and easy to use for a wide demographic, including older audiences. Integrating modern media features, such as Chromecast support, to enhance accessibility. Expanding device compatibility, especially across smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs. Implementing advanced analytics to monitor user engagement and optimize performance. APPROACH We developed a multi-platform application for iOS, Android, and tvOS, making the 1+1 International TV channel easily accessible to users on mobile devices and smart TVs. Key features like Chromecast support allow users to stream live content directly to large screens, improving the at-home viewing experience. To reach a broader audience, we optimized the app for tablet support, ensuring a responsive and adaptive UI across screen sizes. Additionally, we integrated Google Firebase to enable real-time analytics, monitor user behavior, and provide valuable insights for ongoing feature development and improvements.
