Multilingual SEO for Ecommerce Content Marketplace Client Context: The client is a massive global digital assets and content marketplace operating across 8 language markets. While they had a solid baseline of organic traffic, their potential in visual search was completely untapped, and they were missing out on the rapidly emerging AI search landscape. Challenge: Managing a global 2M+ page site (including massive amounts of UGC) created critical bottlenecks. The main "pain points" were: English version drove almost all the traffic, while ES, PT, and DE drastically underperformed. Googlebot was trapped crawling endless technical pages, duplicates, and empty filters instead of indexing high-value commercial categories (crawl budget waste). Client received absolutely no traffic from AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc), falling behind competitors who were already adapting. Our Strategy & Solution: we launched a comprehensive technical and semantic audit, treating each of the 8 languages as a unique, independent market: Technical SEO: Used Server Log Analysis to fix crawl budgets, aggressively blocking junk URLs to force Googlebot to prioritize "money pages". True Localization: Ditched auto-translation. We built native semantics, keyword clusters, and category architectures from scratch for local intent (8+ locales). Visual Search: Deployed strict Google Images/Lens optimization and a Pinterest engine to capture visual traffic. AI Strategy: Boosted E-E-A-T via targeted link-building and Reddit/Quora crowd marketing to dominate AI model recommendations. Results: The growth was explosive across all fronts. Non-English markets surged (Spanish hit 10K clicks/day; Portuguese 6K/day). Google Images CTR rose to 1.8%, while Pinterest delivered 300K+ monthly impressions. AI traffic grew exponentially, hitting 1,300+ daily sessions from ChatGPT alone, plus steady flows from Perplexity and Claude. Overall organic traffic stabilized at an impressive 1.2M - 1.6M visitors per month, peaking at 43,000+ cliсks.
